Mosquito Spray Formulations / Bite Back - Tyler

Bite Back uses two premium grade botanical mosquito spray formulations in our mosquito control systems. Both formulations are highly effective at controlling insect populations, and are classified as among the least toxic of all insecticides to humans and other mammals.

The active ingredient in the formulation most commonly used in our systems is a botanical insecticide called pyrethrin. Pyrethrins are derived from a certain type of chrysanthemum flower. When the mosquito control system is activated, a mist of diluted pyrethrin solution is dispersed around your property. The mist settles in your grass and landscape, killing any mosquito that comes in contact with it. Shortly after application, pyrethrin rapidly degrades, leaving the yard free of any residue.

Bite Back also uses a premium mosquito spray formulation with the man-made botanical active ingredient called permethrin. It’s a synthetic version of pyrethrin, with many of the same characteristics. An important difference is that permethrin is not as readily degraded by sunlight, and leaves a longer lasting residual. This can be desirable if mosquito activity is very high, as it provides extended effectiveness after the misting cycle is completed.

Permethrin is widely used to control adult mosquitoes, gnats, midges, flies, spiders, fleas, ticks, and other insects in and around households and in non-residential areas like parks and recreational facilities.
